Hi Nancy,
I'm still not sure I'm doing this correctly. I did want to send a post to the blog, so let me write something here. Seymour just had their Ag Day. All small town farm communities will know what Ag Day is. Anyway, we set up booths and tables, and the city businesses displayed their goods. I set up a book signing for my Jur Novels from NBI. We shared a table with a Republican running for city mayor. I wanted to tell the guy this was a bad year for Republicans but decided to keep my mouth shut. Our local museum and library also had tables, as did the Houston Museum of Natural History. The Houston Museum had four paleontologists at their table with a couple dinosaur bones, plus a saber tooth cat skull. I took in my focils and let them identify the stuff, and was surprised to find that they were mostly sea creatures up to 300 million years old!!! Sea Lilies, Sea Snails and Horn Coral, all were living creatures at one time. The paleotologists had fun going through them, and used them as their main attraction for their table. After the end of the day, we donated the focils to our local museum, and one of the paleontologists drew pictures for the museum display. I only sold two books, but we had fun talking with the paleontologists and other folks that stopped by our table. This coming Saturday will be our writer's club meeting. We have about a dozen or more each month.
